These are some photos of Miramare castle and garden located close to ICTP in Trieste, Italy.Trieste belonged to Austrian empire for centuries and this castle was the residence of an Austrian Duke named Maximillian. Maximillian was the empror of Mexico for some period of time.

Yes, He was assassinated.These guys (European upper-class) were not saints but they were cultivated enough to understand the value of a good architect and regard him as an asset to be revered, not as an subject to be subdued!
